The Metropolitan

A watercolour and ink painting of The Metropolitan pub in Manchester, UK. Every time I walked past this pub, with its grand design and eccentric shapes, I always thought it would make a fantastic picture. Earlier this year I finally took some time to try and capture it on paper. The way the huge building sits on the corner of the street makes it seem like a grand monument which I thought was important to show by painting in some simple cars for scale.

Paper

Painted on cold pressed, 300gsm 100% cotton Arches watercolour paper. Please note that the original watercolour may include small marks or blemishes not visible in the photo, as is common with all physical paintings.
