Hi, I'm Matt!
Who am I? That's the big question. The easiest answer is that I'm an artist, illustrator and all-round creative.
I'm a big fan of using watercolour and ink to tell stories. This is really at the heart of what I do. It could be sitting on street corners or looking out from my window - I'm all about observing the world around me with my trusty painting set.
I'm a self-taught painter and came to the art world later in life after a whole different career. Because of this I'm a really strong believer that anyone can learn these skills with the right approach and way of seeing things. That's what I'm here for!

Workshops
I also run in-person group workshops across Europe throughout the year! The focus of these is all about putting drawing and painting skills into practice, learning how to observe, adapt a scene and getting feedback.
Last year I did workshops in Barcelona, Krakow, London and and York. The dates for 2027 haven't been announced yet, but signing up to my Studio Letters mailing list will ensure you're the first to know when I announce them.
